Russian journalist Marina Ovsyannikova, who is a mother of two, has finally been released after 14-hour detention and interrogation by Russian officials.
Marina, an editor at state-controlled Channel 1, has been trending since Monday (March 14, 2022) after protesting against the Russian invasion in Ukraine during live broadcasting.
She called on the Russian people to protest against the war in a video which has since gone viral.
She was detained following her actions and was released after interrogation which last 14 hours.
Marina was fined 30,000 rouble ($280), and after her release, she disclosed that she did not sleep for two days, and was not given access to legal help.
She appeared before a court on Tuesday (March 15, 2022) and she reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charge of organizing an unauthorized public event.

Igor Ovsyannikov reportedly works for Russia Today.
According to reports, when Marian tried to contact him during her arrest, he responded, “Do svidaniya (Russian language which translates ‘goodbye’).”
